2026 House League Baseball Registration Information

House League Baseball Registration - Terms and Conditions

Greetings Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2026 season!

In our continued effort to shed light on the behind-the-scenes efforts needed to continually run a successful program for our young athletes, the Board of Directors of BOMBA are once again reaching out to provide some insight regarding the upcoming season fees.

We have internally reviewed various aspects of past seasons to determine what was successful, as well as areas where we can make improvements. We also continue to look to the future and are strengthening our plan that attempts to minimize the impact to our members as inflation continues to rise. Despite this, there are still cost increases that we cannot avoid, which will result in an increase in fees for the 2026 season. The key drivers of these increases are:

  • Diamond rental fees set by the City of Burlington.
  • Facility rental rates increase each year.
  • Utility costs continue to be on the rise.

This season we will continue to upgrade our equipment to ensure the safety of our athletes. In addition to these costs, we continue to enhance The Yard and our development programs, including offering additional clinics, adding additional dedicated select teams, bringing back our EBLO program for 15U and 16U, and continuing High Performance programs for our 12U, 13U, and 14U athletes. These upgrades and expansion of our programs remain a focus for The Board of Directors as we strive to improve the quality of instruction to build a competitive program that entices players to remain in this great city.

We wish everyone all the best this season!

NO PAY - NO PLAY

A registration is not considered final and accepted until the registration fee is paid in full. (See also NSF Cheques and Refund Requests)

PLAYER FRIEND REQUESTS POLICY

Historically, BOMBA has made efforts to accommodate individual player requests to be placed on the same team as a friend or with a specific coach. However, feedback from our registrants and their parents has indicated a stronger preference for balanced teams and divisions. As a result, BOMBA WILL NOT accommodate individual player requests beyond the entry-level divisions* (Junior T-Ball, Senior T-Ball, and Junior Coach Pitch).

For Junior T-Ball, Senior T-Ball, and Junior Coach Pitch only, friend or coach requests must be submitted via email to the appropriate division convenor. Please note the following conditions for friend requests:

  • Each player may submit only one friend request.
  • The request must be mutual, meaning it must be confirmed via email from the parents/guardians of both players.

*Protected Players (max of 3 per team- provided enough coach volunteers):

One (1) Head Coach, one (1) Assistant Coach and one (1) House League Team Sponsor will be assured of having their child on the team they coach or sponsor.

or

One (1) Head Coach and Two (2) Assistant Coaches will be assured of having their child on the team they coach.

Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance required for Coaches and Managers

Please be reminded that all head coaches and managers are required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) police clearance issued within the past two calendar years. A copy must be submitted to BOMBA’s Administrator (administrator@baseballburlington.com) before the start of the season.

REFUND POLICY

If for any reason you choose to withdraw your child from registration prior to the season commencement there will be a $50 processing fee subtracted from your refund. Any refund requested after season commencement will have a $50 processing fee deducted and additionally, 50% of the registration fee will be withheld to cover the costs incurred for uniforms, equipment, diamonds, umpires etc.  Season commencement is considered to be April 1st, as team formations begin at that time.

NSF CHEQUES

BOMBA will charge a $50 administration fee for NSF cheques. If a cheque is rejected at any time, the child is not considered registered until payment is received by BOMBA.

NUMBER OF GAMES

Due to many factors BOMBA cannot guarantee the number of games your child will play in any season. Factors such as weather, diamond availability, number of registrants, umpire availability, holidays, or any other unforeseen issues such as power failure cutting off night lighting will all impact the number of games we can achieve.

GAME NIGHTS

All levels will be scheduled to play twice per week.

BOMBA will do everything within our control to keep game nights and days consistent with previous years. However, due to the tremendous success of the Toronto Blue Jays this past season, we are already experiencing a significant increase in demand for youth baseball programs.

Our BOMBA Directors are working diligently with the City of Burlington to secure additional diamond permits for the 2026 season. This will allow us to accommodate more teams and provide additional opportunities for young athletes to participate in the sport we all love.

Once our diamond allocations and permits are confirmed, we will post the finalized game nights and days for each division. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process and continue planning for a successful 2026 season.

PRACTICES

Each team in the 7U and above divisions will have a 2-hour practice time slot once a week with at least one other team.  Practices will be scheduled on either Saturday or Sunday throughout the season.  Specific days and times will be assigned prior to the start of the season and will be determined subject to diamond availability.

SEASON START AND FINISH DATES

It is BOMBA’s goal to start our summer baseball season play for the divisions 7U HL and older the second week of May and conclude the season in late July/early August.  The entry level divisions (Jr. & Sr. T-Ball and Junior Coach Pitch) and Challenger Baseball traditionally start playing after the Victoria Day long weekend and conclude their season with Fun Day, the last Saturday in July.

PARENTS / GUARDIANS RESPONSIBILITIES

Parents/Guardians are responsible to ensure that a player is in good health and has sufficient medical coverage, over and above the minimal insurance provided to the Association.

Parents/Guardians are responsible to purchase and ensure that the player wears the appropriate protective gear (i.e. jock or jill), when participating in all athletic events.

FOOTWEAR

At all levels of House League play athletic running shoes are acceptable. If the registrant chooses to wear baseball shoes metal cleats are not allowed until the level of 15U.

BASEBALL GLOVES

Baseball gloves for all players are the responsibility of the Parent / Guardian to supply. Catcher’s Equipment will be supplied by BOMBA, one to a team.

BATTING HELMETS

Batting Helmets for all players are the responsibility of the Parent / Guardian to supply and are not to be shared.
