Umpire Registration & Training

Welcome to the 2026 Season

Umpire Training

These are activities run by BOMBA locally for the betterment of our umpires. They are optional but highly recommended sessions. There is no fee, and umpires can attend as many sessions. All events are run at our indoor training facility, The Yard.

“Winter Training” covers fundamentals of umpiring at both base and plate positions. It focuses on core skills required for umpires to be successful and look right doing it.

“Umpire Boot Camp” are condensed sessions focused on small diamonds. It is specifically targeted for new umpires working with a Rookie Ball Machine and in Coach Pitch environments.

Winter Training Dates: April 3rd - 6:30pm-8:30pm

Boot Camp: May 1st - 6:30pm-8:30pm

Umpire Registration

All umpires have two sections that they must complete for their registration.  The first is the registration for our scheduling system, RAMP Assigning. This allows umpires to get communications from BOMBA and to later provide availability for games.

Follow the link to: http://bomba.rampassigning.com account. Accounts are approved on a weekly basis. There is a delay in receiving the list of completed training from Ontario Baseball Association. Therefore, RAMP is the best way to ensure we stay in touch with you.

Umpire Parent Meeting

BOMBA has historically held a meeting for all New Umpires and their parents. This is designed to give you a review of our online booking system called “Ramp”, introduce you to your contacts and to review responsibilities and ask questions.

The meeting will be held virtually prior to the start of the season. A notification will be sent to all umpires via RAMP with the address and information. It is highly recommended that all new umpires attend. Returning umpires should attend the first portion of the meeting for updates and changes.
